Willie McCurrach OBE is a retired chef lecturer with over 50 years’ experience as a chef. He spent 42 of those years in City of Glasgow college, formerly Glasgow College of Food Technology where he ultimately finished as Head of School.
Willie started his career as a student at Aberdeen Technical College and then advanced to an apprenticeship at the North British Hotel before transferring to the infamous Gleneagles Hotel, specialising in pastry.
Throughout his career, Willie has won prestigious awards, including the Catey award for education and training in 2016, and going on to receive an OBE for his services to the hospitality and education industry in 2018.
He has been involved in Springboard FutureChef since it began, 25 years ago, including judging the Central and South Scotland Regional Final each year and places a high importance on the competition.
