Springboard Programme: FutureChef Runner Up
Region: London
Year: 2016
In early 2019, whilst still only 14 years old, Ray made it to the grand final for the Springboard FutureChef national competition, out of a total field of 14,500 young chefs he went on to finish runner up for the overall UK crown. A testament to his ability, he made the final again in 2020 and through his involvement in the competition has given him great exposure to the industry and Ray has taken those opportunities with both hands.
A bright, talented, creative and very ambitious Chef with a successful track record of impressing from a very young age, his more recent experience includes working alongside the acclaimed Adam Handling at The Frog, Jose Pizarro at his flagship Bermondsey restaurant, Jon Atashroo at the Tate Gallery upper-level fine dining restaurant, Gary Foakes at the fine dining Arnold Hills restaurant at The London Stadium, and for the last has previously been a regular member of the chefs’ brigade at Roux Fine Dining Parliament Square.
Ray is currently working at the Magic Mushroom restaurant in Essex as a Chef de Partie whilst attending Westminster Kingsway culinary college. He looks set for a bright future in the Kitchen.
