Jai competed in FutureChef 2015 and 2016, representing Central and South Scotland in the National Final in 2015. Since then, he has worked part-time with mentor John McMahon of Prestonfield. After finishing school, Jai began working full-time as a commis chef with his mentor at Prestonfield. 2020 saw Jai take on the role of a FutureChef Mentor for the first time, coaching an Edinburgh pupil through to the Central & South Scotland Regional Final.
