Springboard Programme: Springboard FutureChef

Catrin participated in the FutureChef competition for three years, finally winning it in 2018 at age 16 by wowing the judges with her main of sea bass with textures of bassica and chilli dressing, and a crème brulee with butter shortbread, and a vanilla and balsamic dressing for dessert.
Since then, she has been extremely busy continuing her experiences inside and outside the kitchen. This Includes work experience with Steve Munkley at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, working in the kitchen at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta catering for 400-500 people and taking part in a live cooking demonstration at the Royal Welsh Show. As well as Winning Coguardd 2018, a cooking competition in Wales.
Along with strengthening her passion for the catering world, Catrin has also achieved 8 A*’s, 4 A’s & a B in her GCSE’s, a Distinction** in Hospitality and Catering and 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals in the Welsh, English and Irish Karate Open Championships.
Catrin has made appearances on TV and radio and has also been back as a judge for FutureChef as well as supporting one of the finalists towards the National Final.
