April Lily Partridge’s journey in the hospitality industry is studded with accolades, awards, and notable achievements, signifying her outstanding contributions. Commencing with her triumph in the Rotary Young Chef competition and Springboard FutureChef, April’s journey has been punctuated by milestones. Notable awards include The Hot Talent Award at Hotelympia in 2012, the Young Person of the Year award from The Craft Guild of Chefs in 2013, and the prestigious title of Best Young Chef at the Observer Food Monthly Awards in 2014.
April’s prowess in The Craft Guild of Chefs Young National Chef of the Year competition resulted in a historic third-place finish in 2020, marking her as the highest-ranking female chef in the competition’s history. However, her journey reached new heights with the coveted Roux Scholarship in 2023, a testament to her culinary excellence. This pinnacle achievement not only solidifies her status as a trailblazer but adds a distinguished chapter to her illustrious career.
Additionally, April has just been named as this years’ “One to Watch” at this year’s Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards.
Even amid the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, April showcased her resilience. From working in a Notting Hill fish shop to starting her own catering business, Pril’s Pantry, and contributing to The Harwood Arms, her multifaceted approach highlighted her adaptability and commitment to the industry. Her enduring impact extends beyond traditional kitchens; she was invited to demonstrate her culinary talents at the Scottish Chefs Conference’s 10-year anniversary in 2015, sharing the stage with legends like Andrew Fairlie, Angela Hartnett, Clare Smyth, and Tom Kitchin. This recognition further underscores April’s exceptional skills and influence in the culinary world.
