Springboard Programme: Springboard FutureChef
Year: 2010
April competed in the Springboard FutureChef Competition in 2009 and 2010, where she made it all the way to the National Final in London.
After competing, April then went on to complete an apprenticeship with The Ivy in London, before being employed there full-time for 3 years. April has also been fortunate enough to win various awards for her culinary talent.
April has a real talent and has won many awards including The Hot Talent Award at Hotelympia 2012, Young Person of the Year award for The Craft Guild of Chefs in 2013 and she was named Best Young Chef in the Observer Food Monthly Awards in 2014. April competed in The Craft Guild of Chefs Young National Chef of the Year three times and in 2020 came 3rd and the highest ever ranking female chef in The Craft Guild of Chefs National Chef of the Year in 2020. She also won the Roux Scholarship in 2022 which has opened up lots of doors for her.
