Information for Teachers

FutureChef has adapted to our changing environment to support teachers and educators in the classroom with industry based, curriculum aligned competitons and modules matched to the food-related curriculum, to support students with skills and knowledge.

This is delivered through a two-tier programme, through FutureChef Jnrs and FutureChef the Competiton

FutureChef Jnrs

(England & Wales Yr 7/8, Scotland S1/2, Northern Ireland Yr 8/9)

FutureChef Jnrs is an introduction to food, nutrition, and basic cooking.  Our online modules include topics such as nutrition, food hygiene, knife skills and basic recipes for Teachers and young people to access online to be used at home or in the classroom working through bronze silver and gold certified modules. As well as providing chef links into schools.

This learning is supplemented by exciting online cooking experiences, challenges, and competitions. These are all about injecting fun into cooking and getting young people engaged and building confidence and cooking skills around the following campaigns.

(England & Wales Yr 9/10/11, Scotland S3/4/5, Northern Ireland Yr 10/11/12)

The FutureChef Competition allows pupils to learn about practical cookery and enhance their culinary skills along with building knowledge and helping them grow in confidence in the kitchen as they gain experience and progress through our 4 staged cooking competition at School, Local, Regional and National Final heats to be crowned FutureChef Champion 2022! Online modules and resources support students to develop their skills whilst working with industry chefs. The competition is designed to develop students cooking skills and allow them to show their creative side through food.

Introducing the competition in your school creates a focus and buzz around the Hospitality / Food dept as well as creating industry links with local chefs to support your curriculum and career progression for the pupils through advice and guidance on culinary career routes including further education and apprenticeship opportunities.
