Tell us about yourself

I was at school, studying food tech, hoping to learn more about the catering business.

Initially I joined for the fun of the competition with my Friends, I soon realised that it was something I really wanted to do.

I found that joining the competition I developed my skills so much and enjoyed it the whole way through.

Since getting involved with Springboard and FutureChef has your life changed?

Yes, I developed many new skills and learned so much which also gave me more confidence.

What are you doing now?

I am still in school learning food tech. But during this competition I have learnt lots of new techniques and skills with the help of my mentor, and I have learnt so many new things that I never thought I would learn. But I hope to still carry on learning as many skills as I can in cooking. As I still hope that I can learn more about the Catering business.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

I will still be in school as I am only in year 8 but I still hope that I can carry on learning about this industry, learning many new skills. I also hope that in the future I will be developing my knowledge further in catering. I hope that along the way I can join other competitions like this, as I have enjoyed it so much.

What tips or advice would you give someone considering their career options/being involved in FutureChef?

The advice I would give to anyone wanting to join this programme is to have fun, and enjoy yourself. That way you can make it the best experience possible.
