FutureChef Activities

Available throughout the year, FutureChef offers six types of varied activities which are designed to stimulate student learning. You can access the following activities for free once you are a registered school.

lookandlearn icon Look and Learn - Skills Demos and Student Challenges

They can take the form of a chef demonstration or be delivered as student challenges where groups of students can look, learn and then practise new skills and techniques.

learningbites icon Learning Bites

Learning bites are rich resources which can be used in the classroom or by students at home to support the development of their technical skills. There is a range of learning resources matched to the curriculum and these include video demonstrations, skill sheets, research tasks and quizzes.

INSPIRE taster sessions offer young people the opportunity to benefit from an industry visit and get a taste of life in the workplace. INSPIRE sessions adhere to a quality standard ensuring that young people participating get the best experience possible. presentations icon Career Presentations

Career presentations are delivered by Springboard Ambassadors across the country to INSPIRE young people about the varied and exciting careers available in kitchens, food service management groups and the wider hospitality industry.

studentAwards icon Student Awards

Celebrating practical achievements, student awards recognise and reward young people as they learn and develop their cooking skills. All nominees will receive a certificate and pin badge, and regional winners will be drawn at the end of each academic term. Visit the student award page to find out about submission criteria.

Challenges students to cook under pressure and develop practical skills through timed cook-offs in school heats, local, regional and national finals. See the competition page to find out more.
